Description

The Deluxe Coruss carbon fibre violin bow has great performances for its price. Moreover, this new design looks like a Pernambuco stick, but is much more stiff and nervous than its wooden counterparts for the same price. Besides, fitting Coruss synthetic fibre on your bow comes along with several advantages that natural horsehair doesn’t have.

Characteristics of the Deluxe Coruss carbon fibre violin bow

Though it looks natural, the stick is a hybrid of carbon and pernambuco – it is both stiff and quick as the carbon shaft it is woven around, and warm as round as the wood. As for the ebony frog, it is simple and plain, but the slides are adorned with a fine polished metal plate. The head plate, the fittings, the button, and the ferrule are in nickel silver, , an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc that looks like silver.

Although the default Coruss hair for this bow is cream-coloured, I can rehair it with any colour you like.

Last but not least, the Corusslogo is no longer branded on the frog as it used to be, but directly inside the stick.

The overall weight of this bow is 61g, which is the standard weight. As for the stick, it displays a very even density distribution. That’s why this bow is rather versatile, and thus can fit a lot of musicians.

What are the advantages of the Coruss synthetic fibre

Fitting a synthetic fibre on your bow comes along with several advantages that natural horsehair doesn’t have. First, this fibre is consistent and strong. Hence it lasts 2 times longer than high-quality horsehair. It is also more stable and completely unaffected by the changes of temperature and humidity. As for the sound, the grip is great and the response flawless. All in all, synthetic fibre sounds more powerful and bright than natural hair.

What your violin maker thinks about the Deluxe Coruss carbon fibre violin bow

First and foremost, the Corussvegan bow displays very good performances for its price, allowing the student to work on many bowing techniques for only a fraction of the price of a wooden stick. As such, a lot of teachers with whom I have worked have recommended this bow.

Besides, the purists have no more excuses now – the stick looks exactly like a pernambuco stick! You can easily play with this bow in your orchestra without anybody noticing.

Moreover, this stick offers plenty of unusual details for this price range, such as a metal head plate.

Finally, if professional players need a spare bow, the Coruss vegan bow makes a great opportunity – unaffected by its environment, the stick and the hair enable you to play outdoor without problems.

What’s more, this stick is also a modern breakthrough. Indeed, there is no more animal product on it – it is absolutely vegan.
