Des violons dans l'atelier, prêt à être joués.
Four years of the workshop
An ADVENTURE that began over 15 years ago

About us

I arrived in the world of violin making in 2008, and after training at the Newark School of Violin Making, here I am, launching my career as a luthier.

After a few years of practice in Europe, I moved to Strasbourg in 2017 and founded my first stringed-instrument workshop in what was then just my studio, thanks to the help of a local incubator.

In 2019, I founded the SARL Guillaume KESSLER – Lutherie d’Art, which already contained the premises of what is happening today. Indeed, it was in 2024 that the separation began between the activities of the Lutherie d’Art workshops in Strasbourg and those of Guillaume KESSLER, i.e. me… To continue the work in the same vein as I had started it, but going further, much further.

The aim is to be ever closer to you to respond to your requests, and above all to be more mobile so as to be able to meet you more easily.

The adventure of lutherie with you

Closer to you

Originally, I was a recluse in my Alsatian studio in Strasbourg, and I set up this website on which I tackled the subjects of your daily life as a musician and how we could find solutions together.

The years have gone by, and thanks to you and lutherie, I’ve been able to embark on many incredible adventures around the world:

  • A large part of Europe
  • The United States
  • Guadeloupe
  • South Korea
  • China
  • Japan
  • And more, I hope!

By meeting musicians and bow and violin enthusiasts like you, we’ve been able to share these moments around the world.

My ambition with this new version of the website is to get closer to you, so that I can meet you wherever you are, hoping to help you benefit from the very best in lutherie and the advice associated with it:

  • Find the instrument that will redefine your playing
  • Rediscover your music tool through restoration or tuning
  • And, of course, in-depth discussions on all the aspects that make music one of the best ways to escape…

See you soon,
