Description

This face mask is quite incredible: not only is it useful, but most of all, it is appealing. I received a lot of messages from musicians and other music enthusiasts – they all love it. To think that, at the beginning, it was a mere joke between my friend Dominique, a seamstress… Finally, I came to think that these masks were not just for protection. They could be used as symbols to support music and handicraft during this difficult time.

Besides, all the money that I collect will go to an organisation you can read about below.

Handmade musical face mask

Dominique, from the Vosges and Morocco
Not in our best light, but this selfie is the only picture of us I have! My bad!

These washable masks are made according to the government’s requirements. Not only do they enable you to perform the barrier gestures, but also do they represent the community you belong to – musicians.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, my dear Dominique, a generous seamstress, has been volunteering to make masks (more than 350 as you’re reading this). By creating colourful and funny designs, she wanted to share some positivity. The models I offer on my workshop, for example, lean more towards art and commitment.

This is a limited offer. Moreover the patterns cannot be exactly the same. Even if we try to keep them as similar as possible, the fabrics are rather hard to find. However, note that I do not expect you to purchase them, but to send them to you in exchange for your donations.

What will your money go to

Face mask for OneUs
Erica HyoWon Jang during a lesson with children in Tanzania.

Your money will be used to fund humanitarian aid in music education. I’m a patron of OneUs, a nonprofit organisation that is committed to education of and through music. Besides, this association shares instruments and knowledge on how to use them to children all over the world.

They have two main projects for the moment: one in Tanzania and another in the Caribbean Islands.

Through your funding, this association can share values, knowledge, but also instruments, accessories, and consumables to allow daily practice.

As for me, I collect in my workshop all the instruments, the accessories, and the consumables that can be of use for the association. I’m here to oversee that musicians and teachers take good care of their instruments despite the very difficult conditions they can face.

I truly hope you like these masks, and I thank you for your generosity.
