Description
Here, I offer you to get a complete set of tonewoods to make your own violin. Available in different qualities, according to your budget and desires, from the common species to those kept for masters. This tonewood set for violin is selected in order to give you the best results in the making of your instrument, whether you want to do it on your own or during one of my internships.
A complete set of tonewood for violin
I’ve gathered and selected for you a complete set of tonewoods which will allow you to make your own violin:
- First of all, curly maple boards for the neck, back, and ribs.
- Then, a well-resonant and dried spruce soundboardas well as a bassbar.
- An ebony fingerboard partially shaped and thetop nut & saddle.
- Finally, blocks and linings.
These pieces are already sawn and cut to make working on them easier.
Different qualities of wood
I’ve gathered the wood pieces in different categories so that you can match them to your budget, your needs, or your desires.
Master (€570)
Master woods are the most beautiful pieces which have been selected in stock. Beautiful and well-dried planks, stabilised and with delightful aesthetic features. Maple wood with beautiful waves, perfectly split and regular spruce wood, but also very dense ebony wood.
They help to create gorgeous violins with the best sounds.
Craftsman (€415)
Craftsman woods are, before anything else, beautiful pieces that allow anyone to make elegant and resonant violins. An excellent choice to make a hand-made instrument.
Apprentice (€220)
Apprentice woods are the less aesthetic pieces which have some technical or visual flaws. However, they give you an opportunity to train by making your first instruments or to experiment.
Internships and tonewood for violins
I give you the opportunity to put on an apron and to transform these few pieces of wood into a violin during one of my violin-making internships.
