A warm and soft sound, complemented by a good projection.

Description

Warchal Karneol violin strings are made from a synthetic perlon core. Of a modern design, they imitate the sensations of gut strings through their sound and feel. Thus, the synthetic strings produce a warm and velvet-like sound.

Warchal Karneol violin strings features

Karneol, or carnelian in English, is the name given to the brownish-red semi-precious gemstone. A colour that evokes fire – perhaps to illustrate the incredible warmth of the sound.

First of all, Warchal‘s Karneol strings offer a high-quality synthetic core. Different metals, such as silver or hydronalium, are then wound onto them. Speaking of, hydronalium is an alloy of aluminium and magnesium which is super resistant to corrosion. Perfect for violinists whose sweat is corrosive.

They offer a richer and warmer sound than their sister Ametyst, and have a great projection despite their soft tension. They are also very stable and reach their full sound potential over a few days.

Finally, according to Warchal policy, the set of strings is only available in one option of tension. Thus, you won’t have to ponder over which one to get because this set will suit most violins. However, I suggest you to take your string individually, whether it is for a mix or replacement. Each set is also available with a E-string ending as a ball or a loop to fit your adjusters.

My review on Warchal Karneol violin strings

If a musician wishes a soft and warm sound, they should choose Karneol strings. Indeed, these strings are incredibly well-balanced and responsive to bow strokes with no effort. They also sound super warm compared to other synthetic strings. They can be used successfully to compensate a piercing violin.

Finally, these strings will perfectly fit any type of instruments, even the most fragiles, thanks to their soft tension.

  • A lot of warmth
  • Great responsiveness to bow strokes
  • Eco-friendly as it is recycled by Warchal (by the way, I buy your strings as gift coupons).

  • They might seem slightly stiffer and thicker than normal to touch
